Controversial cultural issues are affecting the dynamics of family, school, work, and church. We'd rather avoid talking about them, but not talking isn't helping. Christians are called to be the light of truth and show the love of God. This is no easy task, and, to do it well, we need to talk.

Tim’s passion and energy will help motivate you and your group to love God with all your mind.

Tim has worked as a professional teacher since 2008, employed in both the private and public sector. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from York University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Southern Evangelical Seminary. Elizabeth Urbanowicz is a follower of Jesus Christ who is passionate about equipping kids to understand the truth of the Christian worldview.

She holds a B.S. from Gordon College in Elementary Education and Spanish, an M.S.Ed. from Northern Illinois University in Literacy Education, and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Elizabeth began her professional career as an elementary teacher in a Christian school.

Several years into her teaching experience, Elizabeth realized that despite being raised in Christian homes, attending a Christian school, and being active in church, her students thought more like the culture than like Christ. Elizabeth began searching for curricular materials that would equip her students to think critically, helping them discover that Christianity is the worldview that lines up with reality. After not finding any materials that met this need, she began creating a curriculum for her students.

Elizabeth first taught Foundation Comparative Worldview Curriculum as an after-school class for third through fifth graders, and the results were incredible! Students were transformed from passive recipients of information to active evaluators of every message they receive. Parents and teachers alike noticed the impact these materials had on students’ media consumption, academic achievement, and everyday habits. This transformation lasted beyond the elementary years and guided students’ thinking in junior high and beyond.

Elizabeth now works full-time on developing comparative worldview and apologetics resources for children. Her goal is to prepare the next generation to be lifelong critical thinkers and, most importantly, lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

Tim grew up in a pastor’s home and has had the privilege of living and ministering both in Canada and the US. He was "kind of thrown into ministry" at a very young age but has now been ministering for over 20 years in many different positions and contexts of ministry. He still feels humbled and honoured that God would allow him these incredible opportunities to be a pastor and leader in His church.

Tim's greatest calling and privilege though is that he is the husband of Jennifer Woodcock and the father of three incredible girls. he loves sports (especially Basketball - Go Hoosiers!!), the outdoors, and reading.

Tim's heart is to pastor the incredible people that call Glad Tidings Church home with conviction and care. He has a strong desire to see the church equipped with a deep understanding of God’s Word and their identity as Sons and Daughters in the Kingdom rule and reign of Jesus. He still believes that the church universal is God’s plan in accomplishing His mission in the world.

Andy is the founder and president of Apologetics Canada, dedicated to helping Christian communities grow in their faith and share their hope.
 
Currently, Andy is working on a new video series, Branded: Rethinking Identity, that addresses our personal, communal, and spiritual identity. He is also the author of Reclaimed: How Jesus Restores Our Humanity in a Dehumanized World released in 2020, which was awarded runner up to evangelistic resource of the year. This book was preceded by The Human Project video series. In 2018, The Human Project debuted at film festivals around the world and won a number of awards including Best Short Film and People's Choice. Andy also created and hosted The Thinking Series and is the author of Thinking? Answering Life’s Five Biggest Questions. Andy speaks on these topics internationally at universities, conferences, churches, prisons, and coffee shops. Between his 20 years of experience as a pastor and the completion of a PhD at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, Andy brings both experience and research to his work.
 
Andy is originally from Portland, Oregon and currently lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia with his wife, Nancy, and their boys.

Wesley Huff

Wesley Huff was born in Multan, Pakistan and spent a portion of his childhood in the Middle East. After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition at the age of 11 that left him paralyzed from the waist down he experienced a miraculous recovery that the doctors themselves said they had no medical explanation for. This experience, along with a great deal of study and soul searching in his later teens helped his interest in the subjects of faith, and engaging the beliefs and worldview perspectives of others.

Wesley holds a BA in sociology from York University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary, and is currently a PhD student in New Testament at the University of Toronto's Wycliffe College. He has participated in numerous talks and interfaith dialogue events at universities across Canada and has been participating in public dialogues on issues of faith, belief, and religion for the last ten years.

He enjoys canoeing, archery, and cats (although not all three at the same time). Wes lives in Toronto with his wife Melissa, their son Eli, and their daughter Everly.

Troy Lydiate is a Jamaican-born recording artist, speaker and mentor living in the Greater Vancouver area of Canada. With a BA in Social Sciences from Providence University, his professional background is Youth Support Working and thus, naturally finds himself working with youth, young adults and college ages in ministry. Troy is working as the Creative Director and oversees Youth Engagement with Apologetics Canada. He can also be heard weekly as one of the hosts of the AC Podcast. Troy has a background of speaking at conferences, concerts and schools as well as preaching or teaching at ministerial events.

Under the moniker of "Scribe Music," he has released 3 studio albums and a variety of songs which he uses as a bridge to minister the gospel. His music production has found him awarded and nominated for several GMA (Covenant Awards), numerous blog features and placements on Canadian Christian radio. This has lead to a variety of concerts, and speaking engagements ranging from talks on the music industry, artist accountability and identity. When not creating and performing music, Troy’s first passion is soccer which he still plays and in the height of his pursuit brought him to a Real Madrid summer academy and University in both Canada and the US. Adopted as a toddler by Pastors Bob and Gwen Lydiate, Troy’s early years would be spent on the prairies of Canada in Regina, Saskatchewan. His experience in Western Canada would have him spending a lot of his ministry experience within the Indigenous community. He is a father of two and husband to Jasmine of 7 years. Troy is passionate about building and serving in the local church. He is member of his church leadership and serves on the worship team. He seeks to live a lifestyle of influencing cultural and global transformation, rooted in love, releasing hope while loving God and loving people.

Wyatt loves writing and spirituality. His passion is to connect head with heart through engaging with the best spiritual writings that the Christian church has produced. Wyatt earned a BA in Philosophy and Religion with a minor in Greek at Liberty University. He also gained an MDiv and ThM in Old Testament from the Master’s Seminary. He went on to earn another ThM in Church History/Patristics from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a PhD in Biblical Theology. His dissertation focused on the Psalms.

He has published articles in Heythrop Journal, Philosophia Christi, Religious Studies, and Sophia. He recently finished editing a book called Explaining Evil: Four Views (featuring a chapter from Tyndale's Dr. Richard Davis) that was released in January of 2019 with Bloomsbury Academic. He is currently working on a new monograph for Pickwick Publications called, Broadening Defenses to the Problem of Evil. Dr. Franks is a member of the Society of Christian Philosophers and on the Executive committees for the Evangelical Philosophical Society and the Canadian Society of Christian Philosophers. Dr. Franks joins the executive leadership team having served almost every academic committee at Tyndale.

Many today believe that Christianity requires intolerance, bigotry, and the like. In this talk, Dr. Paul Franks will share biblical faithful strategies to overcome this new obstacle.

Dr. Sarah Han is Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry and brings practical ministry experience as an ordained minister and theological expertise as an academic. Dr. Han considers herself to be "third culture" Canadian-Korean-Chinese and her formative theology was shaped on the mission field abroad. She has provided leadership in the Canadian immigrant church context for over a decade and has diverse experience in the Canadian public and private sectors. Dr. Han's vocational commitment and theological passion are to critically observe and reflect on how ecclesiology shapes and informs missiology and her research focuses on an intercultural, intergenerational, missional ecclesiology for Canada.

Ewan Goligher is a physician-scientist practicing intensive care medicine. He writes and speaks on faith, science, suffering, ethics, and conscience.

Ewan is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He earned his MD at the University of British Columbia and a PhD in Physiology at the University of Toronto. He trained in internal medicine and critical care medicine.

His research program studies lung function and respiratory muscle function in patients with acute respiratory failure, and he is heavily involved in clinical trials testing new treatments for respiratory failure. He is author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. His research has been published in a leading scientific journals in medicine and in his subspecialty of intensive care medicine.

He is involved in efforts to advocate against the practice of euthanasia (also known as medical aid-in-dying) and for the protection of conscience in healthcare. He writes and speaks on these issues for both academic and lay audiences.

When not writing, analyzing data, or looking after patients, Ewan is likely to be found sailing on Georgian Bay, Ontario. He and his wife Rachel have four children and one dog and live in Toronto. He attends Christ Church Toronto.

And if our bodies matter, how does that shape our views of big moral questions like the ethics of sex and the right way to die?

Raphael Samuel is a Christian speaker, apologist and anesthesiologist. Born in Durban, South Africa, he obtained his medical degree and a Master’s degree in Medicine there. He further obtained Fellowships in Anesthesiology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Christian Apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, Southern California.

Having lived, worked and ministered in three different countries on three respective continents, he testifies to the transformative power of, and universal need for the Gospel of Jesus. By presenting evidence for the moral, logical, historical, and scientific coherence of the Christian worldview, he aims to help the fellow believer to love the Lord God with all his mind (Mk 12:30), as well as address barriers to belief faced by the skeptic.

She holds a B.S. from Gordon College in Elementary Education and Spanish, an M.S.Ed. from Northern Illinois University in Literacy Education, and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Elizabeth began her professional career as an elementary teacher in a Christian school.

Several years into her teaching experience, Elizabeth realized that despite being raised in Christian homes, attending a Christian school, and being active in church, her students thought more like the culture than like Christ. Elizabeth began searching for curricular materials that would equip her students to think critically, helping them discover that Christianity is the worldview that lines up with reality. After not finding any materials that met this need, she began creating a curriculum for her students.

Elizabeth first taught Foundation Comparative Worldview Curriculum as an after-school class for third through fifth graders, and the results were incredible! Students were transformed from passive recipients of information to active evaluators of every message they receive. Parents and teachers alike noticed the impact these materials had on students’ media consumption, academic achievement, and everyday habits. This transformation lasted beyond the elementary years and guided students’ thinking in junior high and beyond.

Elizabeth now works full-time on developing comparative worldview and apologetics resources for children. Her goal is to prepare the next generation to be lifelong critical thinkers and, most importantly, lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
