The Bible is the most important book of the last two millennia. From sitting at the formation of governments, cultures, and law, this collection of ancient documents has shaped the modern world in ways you may have never realized. However, while the Bible's influence has remained, central attitudes towards it have radically shifted. Once referred to as "the Good Book," there has been a growing skepticism and downright distaste for the Bible.
Are there good reasons to take the Bible seriously? Can we have confidence that it hasn't been altered, adapted, influenced, and edited since its last book was penned nearly two thousand years ago? What are the implications if the Bible's claims are true?

Glen Scrivener is an ordained Church of England minister and evangelist who preaches Christ through writing, speaking, and online media. He directs the evangelistic ministry Speak Life. He is passionate about people meeting Christ and equipping Christians to share their faith. He's often found speaking at churches and universities, in the studio producing online media or in his office, writing books and other evangelistic material.
Glen is the author of several books, including The Air We Breathe: How We All Came to Believe in Freedom, Kindness, Progress, and Equality (The Good Book Company, 2022) and 3-2-1: The Story of God, the World, and You (10Publishing, 2014).
Glen is originally from Australia and now he and his wife, Emma, live with their two children in England. They belong to All Souls Eastbourne.

Now, though, the Bible is deemed guilty of crimes that would be unthinkable without the Bible's own profound influence. It is considered bigoted, cruel, restrictive and regressive. But it's the Bible itself that has taught us the values of equality, compassion, freedom and progress. How should we respond when Christianity is attacked on Christian-ish grounds?

Andy Steiger is the founder and president of Apologetics Canada Ministries (AC). He passionately engages pressing issues related to our humanity from a Christian perspective. He has presented at various venues such as Cambridge University on philosophical issues related to Artificial Intelligence, provided ethical guidelines on robotics for the United Nations, and addressed legal concerns over rights of conscience at the World Congress in Philosophy of Law.
Andy has published widely from children’s books to the Supreme Court Law Review. His most recent book, Reclaimed: How Jesus Restores Our Humanity in a Dehumanized World was awarded runner up to evangelistic resource of the year. Andy is known for making complex theological and philosophical ideas understandable through the art of storytelling as seen in AC’s video resources. The Human Project video series debuted at film festivals around the world and won a number of awards including Best Short Film and People's Choice. Recently released is BRANDED: A Series on Identity which is now available on RightNow Media. Between his 20 years of pastoral experience and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Andy brings both experience and research to his work.
Andy currently lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia, with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. Most weekends you’ll find the Steigers in the mountains or lakes of BC.

Can I Trust the God of the Bible?
If you have read the Bible, you have been confronted by war, slavery, murder, prostitution, rape, and more. Everything that shames humanity is on display. For a holy book, it’s not what you would expect. The characters found in the pages of Scripture are not the heroes we are often tempted to revere. They are complicated, broken, and in need of saving. The Bible provides such clarity on the human condition that, if we’re not careful, we distort the main character—God. The Bible has left many to question: is the God of the Bible good? Can He be trusted? In this session, we will look beyond the biblical characters to see God clearly and that he can be trusted.

Dr. Titus Kennedy is a field archaeologist working primarily with sites and materials of the ancient Near East and the Mediterranean world. He has been involved in archaeological projects at 18 sites spanning 6 countries, including directing and supervising multiple projects from the Bronze Age through the Byzantine period, and has also conducted artifact research at museums and collections around the world. He earned his doctorate from the University of South Africa in Biblical Archaeology with an emphasis on archaeological demographics, MA degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of South Africa, and a BA from Biola University. He is a research fellow at the Discovery Institute, a university and seminary professor of archaeology, editor of the Near Eastern Archaeological Society bulletin, and has been a consultant, writer, and guide for history and archaeology documentaries and curricula, including Drive Thru History® and Bible Unearthed™. He has written numerous articles about biblical archaeology and history, and is the author of Unearthing the Bible, Excavating the Evidence for Jesus, and The Essential Archaeological Guide to Bible Lands.

Can I Trust the Old Testament?
Archaeological Discoveries that Corroborate Scripture
The Bible, and in particular the Old Testament, has been classified as myth and propaganda by many scholars over the two centuries. If the Old Testament is not a reliable historical document as is often alleged, then it cannot be trusted as a source of truth. However, archaeological discoveries of the last 150 years have corroborated the historical claims of Scripture and demonstrated the reliability of the Old Testament. Drawing on major finds relating to events, people, and places spanning the time of the Patriarchs to the time of the Persians, evidence from archaeology indicates that the Old Testament accurately records history and can be considered a trustworthy source.

Wesley Huff was born in Multan, Pakistan and spent a portion of his childhood in the Middle East. After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition at the age of eleven that left him paralyzed from the waist down Wes experienced a miraculous recovery that the doctors themselves said they had no medical explanation for. This experience, along with a great deal of study and soul searching in his later teens solidified his interest in the subjects of faith and engaging the beliefs and worldview perspectives of others. He spent his high school years in the Northern Ontarian town of Elliot Lake, and currently lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife, Melissa, their son Eli, and daughters Everly and Juliette.
He holds a BA in sociology from York University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale University, and is currently doing a PhD in New Testament and Christian Origins at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College. For five years Wes worked as a writer, researcher, and speaker for Power to Change - Students (formerly Campus Crusade in Canada) and has made online contributions to Apologetics Canada, Power to Change - Students, The Gospel Coalition Canada, and the Apologetics Academy Webinar. Along with being involved in the collective with Talk About Doubts, he has been a curriculum contributor with Trans World Radio and written multiple entries (including those on Rastafarianism, Canadian Druze Society, and Kathok Conpa Buddhism) in the Melton’s Encyclopedia of American Religions (Ninth Edition, Vol 2: Canada).
Wesley is currently the Director of Central Canada for Apologetics Canada and has participated in numerous talks and interfaith dialogue events at universities and colleges across North America. He has been participating in public dialogues on issues of faith, belief, and religion for the last ten years.
He enjoys canoeing, archery, and cats (although not all three at the same time).

The second half of our Bibles (what we call the New Testament) is made up of 27 books. But where did these writings come from and what physical evidence do we have that corroborates their reliability? From manuscripts and monuments to ancient graffiti, this talk will look at a number of key artifacts that point to the validity of the Bible’s content, context, and canonization as a collection of trustworthy witnesses to the life and time of Jesus.

He holds an MTh in Applied Theology from the University of Oxford and is a graduate of OCCA, The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. As an apologist, Logan has spoken on tough questions about the Christian faith at universities across Canada and the US. The Possibility of a God Who Can Be Known
Many today question whether we can know about God with any certainty. It is often said that there is a kind of knowledge that comes from science which is concrete and trustworthy, but all other knowledge -- especially spiritual knowledge -- is inherently unknowable. Because of this, anyone who claims to know the truth about God is not only deluded, but also arrogant. Yet, Christians believe that God can be known, particularly through His revelation of Himself in the Bible. But is this even possible? This talk will argue that it is, looking at the modern foundations behind our scepticism of the supernatural, the hidden assumptions and problems behind it, and the real confidence that can be placed in the Bible as God's trustworthy revelation of Himself to us.

The Features of Genuine Authenticity . . . and Hypocrisy
The moral value ascribed to authenticity in popular culture is apparent from popular slogans like "Be Real," "Believe in Yourself," "Follow Your Heart," etc. To what extent can these claims be reconciled with the summons of Jesus to follow him? In this session we will distinguish between genuine authenticity and questionable authenticity. In so doing, we will identify some ways in which the cultural quest for authenticity is occasioning a misunderstanding of biblical hypocrisy.

Mike came to faith through the apologetics ministry of Lee Strobel. He now has a passion to bring apologetics to the larger Church because he has seen firsthand how it changes lives. Mike is a former Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, holds a BSc from the Royal Military College of Canada, and holds a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Columbia Evangelical Seminary. History or Legend?
Joshua and the Conquest of Canaanites
The book of Joshua records a campaign of conquest in Canaan involving cities such as Jericho, Ai, Jerusalem, Lachish, Gezer, Shechem, and Hazor. Since the beginning of archaeological excavations in the Middle East, many scholars have placed this story in the realm of legend or myth based on the lack of archaeological finds, conflicting interpretations, and literary hypotheses. In recent decades, however, new archaeological data and a renewed look at previous excavations have led more than a few archaeologists to assert that these were historical events represented by finds from numerous sites. Based on information both new and old from several ancient cities, a powerful argument can be made that the urban conquests chronicled in Joshua are corroborated by archaeological discoveries.

Steve is a follower of Christ with a heart for apologetics. In his early 20s, Steve experienced a faith crisis due to intellectual undernourishment. Through this experience, he has come to see apologetics as the “intellectual care of the soul” and now feels a personal burden to walk with others who may be struggling with doubt and/or seeking sincerely. Steve holds a diploma in Worship Arts and a BA in Biblical Studies from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, BC. He has completed a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics through Biola University in La Mirada, CA. He began his PhD studies through the University of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland, exploring any proper limits of human enhancement.
A native of Korea, Steve now lives in the Edmonton area with his wife, Sharina, and two children, Maya and Tavin.

Raphael Samuel is a Christian speaker, apologist, and anesthesiologist in Ontario, Canada. Born in Durban, South Africa, he obtained his medical degree and a master’s degree in medicine there. He further obtained fellowships in anesthesiology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is currently completing his master’s degree in Christian Apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, in Southern California on a part-time basis.
Apart from general apologetics, his other areas of interest include pro-life advocacy, human consciousness as evidence for the soul, and the evidence for God from the human body.

Troy Lydiate is a multifaceted artist, speaker, and Creative Director at Apologetics Canada, where he also serves as host of "The AC Podcast." As a graduate of Providence University with a Bachelor's Degree focused on Social Sciences, much of Troy's professional career has been spent working with youth and young adults. Operating under the artistic moniker Scribe Music, Troy has unveiled four studio albums, skillfully utilizing his music as a conduit to convey the gospel message. His music production has garnered him nominations at the GMA (Covenant Awards), further complemented by widespread recognition through blog features and regular airplay on Canadian Christian radio.
Beyond his artistic endeavours, Troy is a devoted husband to Jasmine and a doting father to two young children. A native of Toronto, Praise is a highly sought-after musician known for her adaptability in both solo and collaborative performances and her ability to merge classical and contemporary approaches into a myriad of art forms. Her performances as an award-winning violinist has taken her from her hometown stages in Canada to appearances in Hollywood’s 20th Century Fox Newman Scoring Stage in Los Angeles, California.
For almost 20 years, Praise was a core member of Sinfonia Toronto, one of Canada’s finest virtuoso chamber orchestras whose successful international tours have been received with critical acclaim. Praise resigned from the orchestra in 2022 to pursue new musical endeavours.
As a well-known freelancer in the orchestral scene, Praise has performed with Brantford Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Sinfonietta, Elora Festival Orchestra, Georgian Bay Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, Huronia Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Niagara Symphony, Sinfonia Mississauga, Scarborough Philharmonic, Sudbury Symphony, Talisker Players, Toronto Concert Orchestra, Toronto Operetta Theatre, Toronto Philharmonia, Via Salzburg, Windsor Symphony, and Opera York.
As a pit musician, Praise has enjoyed the opportunity to play in the Toronto Mirvish runs of Phantom of the Opera and The Sound of Music. Some of her additional stage highlights include performing with international sensations Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and Rod Stewart.
Highly regarded for her improvisational skills, Praise has also been able to showcase her performances on a national platform. Her fearless journey as a fusion artist has allowed her to perform with a myriad of award-winning Canadian talent - Devah Quartet, Kaeja d’Dance, Rose Cousins, Terra Lightfoot, Alex Pangman, Diana Panton, Kristi Lane Sinclair, Sarah Slean, The Tenors, Leif Vollebekk, and Tom Wilson —artists with whom she is proud to be affiliated with.
Classically trained from the age of 3, Praise holds an ARCT Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music and Bachelor of Music in Performance and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Toronto. She studied with renowned pedagogue David Zafer and also trained with Professor Lin Yao Ji at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music. Praise gratefully acknowledges the mentorship of Alec Hou (violin), Carla Hartsfield (piano), and Larysa Kuzmenko (composition) during her formative years of musical training.

Lydia is originally from Straffordville, Ontario. She began her piano studies at the age of 4 and cello when she was 10.
She completed her ARCT in performance for both piano and cello before coming to Toronto in 2000 to study cello with Simon Fryer and piano with Peter Longworth at The Glenn Gould School of Music.
At the ages of 10 and 12, Lydia participated in the International Suzuki Conventions in Australia and Korea, where she performed for Dr. Suzuki and worked with Haruko Kataoka. She spent 3 months as a language exchange student in France when she was 16 and, the year after graduating high school, backpacked across Europe with her cello for 5 months, spending 3 of those months in Switzerland at the International Christian Study and Philosophy Centre l’Abri.
Since completing the Performance Diploma Program at the GGS, Lydia’s eclectic performance experience has included playing for Stage West and Theatre Aquarius, Dr. Draw, the Array Ensemble and Sarah Slean, and she is a member of the Venuti String Quartet and the Canadian Folk Music Award nominated group Ozere.
Lydia also toured extensively with Quartetto Gelato for 1 – 1/2 years, usually with her baby daughter in tow, and is featured on their most recent recording. She can often be found in a recording studio and has recorded soundtracks for films and tv scores including “Percy”, “The Breadwinner”, “The White Lie”, and “Astronaut”. Besides recording albums with Ozere and Quartetto Gelato, Lydia has also recorded with Alessia Cara, Sarah Slean, Mike Janzen, The Great Lake Swimmers, Royal Wood, and Laila Biali, to name a few. She has premiered solo cello and chamber music works by many Canadian and Austrian composers and gives recitals regularly, some of which have been recorded by CBC and CIUT radio.
Lydia taught for two years with Sistema Toronto in Parkdale and currently teaches at the Toronto School for Strings and Piano. She now has two children, Arya and William.
