Pierre Gilbert, PhD
PROFESSOR
Canadian Mennonite University
Pierre Gilbert is a respected scholar with extensive teaching experience at institutions in Montreal, Fresno, and most recently, the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg. He has delivered numerous presentations across Canada and the United States, sharing his insights on a wide range of biblical and theological topics.
In addition to his scholarly contributions, Pierre has authored two books exploring fundamental theological questions. His first, Demons, Lies & Shadows: A Plea for a Return to Text and Reason, delves into the complex relationship between the demonic and human spheres. His more recent work, God Never Meant for Us to Die, examines the age-old problem of evil, suffering, and death through the lens of the Genesis creation account.
Throughout his career, Pierre has also focused on the intersection of faith, culture, and politics. He is deeply concerned about the decline of Judeo-Christian values in education, entertainment, and society at large. He advocates for a rediscovery of the Genesis creation narrative to counteract the nihilistic worldview that is increasingly prevalent among the younger generations. He also believes that this ancient text offers a life-affirming meta-narrative that could re-energize Western culture.
Pierre and Monika live in Winnipeg and have three children.
