Andy Steiger

PRESIDENT

Andy is the founder and president of Apologetics Canada, dedicated to helping Christian communities grow in their faith and share their hope.

Andy Steiger is the founder and president of Apologetics Canada Ministries (AC). He passionately engages pressing issues related to our humanity from a Christian perspective. He has presented at various venues such as Cambridge University on philosophical issues related to Artificial Intelligence, provided ethical guidelines on robotics for the United Nations, and addressed legal concerns over rights of conscience at the World Congress in Philosophy of Law.

Andy has published widely from children’s books to the Supreme Court Law Review. His most recent book, Reclaimed: How Jesus Restores Our Humanity in a Dehumanized World was awarded runner up to evangelistic resource of the year. Andy is known for making complex theological and philosophical ideas understandable through the art of storytelling as seen in AC’s video resources. The Human Project video series debuted at film festivals around the world and won a number of awards including Best Short Film and People's Choice. Recently released is BRANDED: A Series on Identity which is now available on RightNow Media. Between his 20 years of pastoral experience and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Andy brings both experience and research to his work.

Andy currently lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia, with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. Most weekends you’ll find the Steigers in the mountains or lakes of BC.

Steve Kim

ALBERTA DIRECTOR

Invite Steve to speak

Steve is a follower of Christ with a heart for apologetics which he views as the "intellectual care of the soul." He serves from the Edmonton area.

In his early 20s, Steve experienced a faith crisis due to intellectual undernourishment. Through this experience, he has come to see apologetics as the “intellectual care of the soul” and now feels a personal burden to walk with others who may be struggling with doubt and/or seeking sincerely. Steve holds a diploma in Worship Arts and a BA in Biblical Studies from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, BC. He has completed a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics through Biola University in La Mirada, CA. He began his PhD studies through the University of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland, exploring any proper limits of human enhancement.

A native of Korea, Steve now lives in the Edmonton area with his wife, Sharina, and two children, Maya and Tavin.

Troy Lydiate

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Invite Troy to speak

Troy is a recording artist and public speaker. He joins Apologetics Canada as the Creative Director, Podcast Host and Leadership Summit Facilitator.

Troy Lydiate is a multifaceted artist, speaker, and Creative Director at Apologetics Canada, where he also serves as host of "The AC Podcast." As a graduate of Providence University with a Bachelor's Degree focused on Social Sciences, much of Troy's professional career has been spent working with youth and young adults. Operating under the artistic moniker Scribe Music, Troy has unveiled four studio albums, skillfully utilizing his music as a conduit to convey the gospel message. His music production has garnered him nominations at the GMA (Covenant Awards), further complemented by widespread recognition through blog features and regular airplay on Canadian Christian radio.

Beyond his artistic endeavours, Troy is a devoted husband to Jasmine and a doting father to two young children. He has dedicated himself to the growth and vitality of the local church, actively engaging in discipleship, worship team, and church leadership. Embracing a mission to catalyze both cultural and global transformation, Troy's approach is firmly anchored in love, releasing hope by loving God and loving people.

Wesley Huff

CENTRAL CANADA DIRECTOR

Invite Wesley to speak

As a New Testament PhD student, Wesley is the unofficial resident historian of the AC team. He comes with extensive public speaking experience.

Wesley Huff was born in Multan, Pakistan, and spent a portion of his childhood in the Middle East. After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition at the age of eleven that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Wes experienced a miraculous recovery that the doctors themselves said they had no medical explanation for. This experience, along with a great deal of study and soul searching in his later teens, solidified his interest in the subjects of faith and engaging the beliefs and worldview perspectives of others. He spent his high school years in the Northern Ontarian town of Elliot Lake and currently lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife, Melissa, their son Eli, and daughters Everly and Juliette.

He holds a BA in sociology from York University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale University, and is currently doing a PhD in New Testament and Christian origins at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College. For five years Wes worked as a writer, researcher, and speaker for Power to Change - Students (formerly Campus Crusade in Canada) and has made online contributions to Apologetics Canada, Power to Change - Students, The Gospel Coalition Canada, and the Apologetics Academy Webinar. Along with being involved in the collective with Talk About Doubts, he has been a curriculum contributor with Trans World Radio and written multiple entries (including those on Rastafarianism, Canadian Druze Society, and Kathok Conpa Buddhism) in the Melton’s Encyclopedia of American Religions (Ninth Edition, Vol 2: Canada).

Wesley is currently the Director of Central Canada for Apologetics Canada and has participated in numerous talks and interfaith dialogue events at universities and colleges across North America. He has been participating in public dialogues on issues of faith, belief, and religion for the last ten years.

He enjoys canoeing, archery, and cats (although not all three at the same time).

Nancy Steiger

OFFICE MANAGER

As Andy Steiger’s wife, Nancy has been with Apologetics Canada right from the start. Together, they make a great team. She holds the team together with her gift in administration.

Andy is the dreamer and visionary; Nancy is the administrator. Together, they make a great team. Nancy is also the mother of two amazing boys, Tristan and William. While this takes up much of her time she is excited to be actively involved in the ministry of Apologetics Canada. She has a B.A. from Northwest Baptist Theological College.

Jill Roias

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Jill is a writer with a love for well-crafted stories and thoughtful conversations. She has over a decade of experience in university campus ministry in Canada.

As someone who did not grow up in a Christian environment, Jill values thoughtful conversations about life's most meaningful questions and experiences. She is passionate about communicating the gospel, helping people walk with Jesus for a lifetime, and seeing others come to understand how the good news of Jesus connects with the whole of life.

Fascinated by well-told stories and the human experience, Jill holds a degree in English and Humanities from Simon Fraser University and has almost two decades experience of working with Canadian university students in campus ministry. While a west coaster at heart, Jill now lives a carless city life with her husband and 2.5 year old son in Toronto, frequenting city playgrounds and local bakeries.

Max Chadwick

FILMMAKER

Max is a director and cinematographer with a passion for storytelling.

Max went through the Diploma of Motion Picture Arts Program at Capilano University where he developed a love for creating and sharing films while also cultivating professional skills in the film & TV industry. After university, Max pursued filmmaking as a freelance and contract videographer in the Fraser Valley, working with organizations such as the Mission Chamber of Commerce, the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association, and Cyrus Center just to name a few. Max has also produced many video and photo projects with Northview Community Church, and you can often spot him at local events with a camera in hand.

From a young age Max was fascinated by theology and deep questions about our place in the universe. Coming from a non-Christian home, Max was first introduced to the Apologetics Canada Podcast while in high school. After attending several of the AC conferences and spending time studying the word of God, he would eventually surrender his life to Jesus Christ. Now his life has come full circle, and Max is able to be a part of the very same organization which so heavily influenced his own walk with the Lord. He hopes that through his work AC can share the love and majesty of God with someone who doesn't yet know Jesus.
